He began his career as a graffiti artist in the 90’s, in Bristol Based Graffiti Gang DryBreadZ Crew. His early work was mostly freehand, he had used stencils on occasion. In the late 1990’s, he started using stencils predominantly. His work quickly became more widely recognised around Bristol and in London, as his signature style developed.
Banksy’s work deals with various social and political themes which rely on visuals to put across his message.
His work continues to capture the imagination of art lovers and collectors around the world and this is reflected in auction sales of his work over the past decade.
Most of Banksy’s art is displayed publicly on viewed surfaces such as buildings around the UK.
